Supporting People who have a Developmental Disability to Age in Place
More than 2,000 adults who have a developmental disability are living in long-term care facilities in Ontario, and nearly 600 are under age 60. The long-term care system often lacks the capacity to support people in this population.
This session will feature organizations that are supporting people to age in homes of their choice, and that are drawing on resources from the health and elder care sectors to meet the changing needs of aging adults.
