Ontario’s new strategy for developmental services, Journey to Belonging: Choice and Inclusion, promises to completely change the way the sector is funded. It also includes a plan to promote competition among service providers by allowing people to move their funding to an agency of their choice. While these developments have the potential to create positive changes, they also open the sector to increasing privatization and new, for-profit service providers.
