Mission & Vision

> About Us

We see a world where everyone belongs.

A sense of belonging is an important factor in life. With it, we feel a sense of purpose, direction and certainty of our future. We’re Community Living Ontario, a non-profit provincial confederation, and we believe that no one should live without a sense of belonging.

With over 12,000 members across Ontario, we represent more than 100 local Community Living associations across the province. We work with schools, families, employers and communities in advocating for the rights of people who have an intellectual disability.

Community Living Ontario envisions a society where people who have an intellectual disability belong, have equal right, respect and acceptance, a sense of self-worth and opportunities for growth. The gifts, uniqueness an innate value of each individual are celebrated, supported and acknowledge as essential to the completeness of the whole community.

Our Mission

Our goal is to create a world where people who have an intellectual disability can fully participate in their community because they are included in decisions and considered citizens.

Imagine a world where people who have an intellectual disability can live with dignity, be included and participate in all aspects of their communities.

We envision a world where everyone belongs, has equality, and is respected. All people of this world will have a sense of worth and opportunities to grow. The gifts, uniqueness and innate value of each person is celebrated, supported and acknowledged as essential to the completeness of the whole community.
