Strategic Plan

Strategic Priorities

Community Living Ontario has a new course of action in assisting people who have an intellectual disability and their families to lead the way in advancing inclusion in their own lives and in their communities.

Earlier this year, the Board of Directors finalized the 2017-2022 Strategic Plan that will guide the work of the Confederation over that period.

In order to capture a broad representation of thoughts and opinions on the future goals of Community Living Ontario, a steering committee was struck and assistance was sought from the consulting firm People Minded Business.

Over the course of a year, more than 200 stakeholders were consulted through a series of focus groups, surveys and interviews. Through that process, themes began to emerge and four strategic priorities were identified:

  • Strengthen the voices, engagement and influence of people and families;
  • Lead the way in raising awareness and advancing solutions to the complexity of challenges facing people, families and member organizations through advocacy and social policy;
  • Harness and share knowledge to drive progress and innovation so that people across Ontario live good lives; and
  • Transfer knowledge and information into practical resources and tools.

Community Living Ontario wishes to thank everyone that took the time to provide their input, which helped in the shaping of a roadmap for the work and initiatives that will be undertaken over the next five years.
