67th Annual General Meeting Update
While we recognize these are difficult and uncertain times, we continue to move forward with the planning of our Annual General Meeting. At this point, we remain optimistic we will be able to host an in-person event. However, if that is not possible, Community Living Ontario is equipped to host a large-scale meeting virtually and we will provide further details in due time.
According to our by-laws (updated last year), the Notice of Meeting must be made public a minimum of 12 weeks ahead of the AGM. Given the current circumstances, Community Living Ontario would like to give you as much advance notice as possible.
This is to advise that an Annual General Meeting of Community Living Ontario will be taking place on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
Call for Resolutions
According to our by-laws (updated last year), our call for resolutions and by-law amendments must be made public a minimum of 12 weeks ahead of the AGM. Given the current circumstances, Community Living Ontario would like to give you as much advance notice as possible to prepare and submit a possible resolution or by-law amendment.
The following information is to help you consider your submissions.
Please send your proposed resolutions and by-law changes to Terri Meshwork via email.
Proposed changes to by-Laws and resolutions may be submitted by any member (local association or Friend of Community Living Ontario) as well as the Community Living Ontario Board and Council.
The deadline for submitting proposed resolutions or by-law amendments for discussion at the upcoming Annual General Meeting is June 12, 2020.
Do not worry about putting your proposed resolution or by-law amendment into a specific motion. We can assist with the format after you submit your proposed changes. Simply let us know as clearly as possible what you think should be put forward for discussion and consideration. Provide a brief background note as to why you feel this is important.
You may submit proposed resolutions for discussion and consideration that do one of the following things:
(a) Give direction or set limits on what means the Board of Directors may or may not use in the pursuit of Association goals;
(b) Add, amend or repeal a social policy position being advocated by Community Living Ontario; or
(c) Recognize the achievements and good work of members or external organizations, groups, or individuals.
You may submit proposed changes to any part of our current by-laws a copy of which can be found here.
