DESCRIPTION:Shine the Light Event\, which will take place on Monday\, May 5\, 2025\, at Explorers Point\, starting at 11:00 AM. The event will begin with a land recognition from the Mattawa\, North Bay Algonquin First Nation. This will be followed by Councilors Fern Levesque and Garry Thibert presenting an official declaration on behalf of the Mayor and Town Council acknowledging May as Community Living month in Mattawa. Following the declaration\, blue and green lights will be lit to illuminate Big Joe Muffraw for the month of May. DESCRIPTION:We are inviting everyone\, across Algoma\, to light up the exterior of their home or business with blue and green lights in support of Community Living Awareness Month. Our offices will feature these branded colours of lights throughout May. We have a social media campaign in place asking residences and businesses who do participate to tag us on Facebook showing their displays.
