The Week in Review
I hope you all got your “Employment & Modernization” proposals in by last Friday’s deadline. We were pleased to support and partner with several of you.
Many thanks to Community Living Iroquois Falls, Kirkland Lake, Temiskaming South, Timmins and the Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre, for hosting Keith Dee and I and engaging in a great discussion of the issues.
Thanks also to the group from the ‘near north’ – Parry Sound, West Nipissing, North Bay, Almaguin Highlands, Huntsville, Mattawa and Muskoka South for allowing Kismet Baun and I to come and present on ‘Marketing Supports and Services in the World of Individualized Funding’.
It’s also been a challenging week. The Ministry has told us that of the $200 million in wage funding for front-line staff, only $80 million will be annualized. In conjunction with our Provincial Network partners, we will continue to seek clarification on this, as well as the rest of the $810 million funding envelope announced in the provincial budget.
Finally, please watch out for all the little ghosts and goblins prowling your neighbourhood tonight – Happy Halloween!
